A Love I Never Knew

Trying to write this poem
I don't know where to start
It's all too good to be true
But you have stolen my heart
From the first time I saw you

I felt something new
I wanted to meet
To see if you felt it too
Then we were introduced
by one of your friends
And at that moment

I didn't want the night to end
Then you asked me to dance
and took me in your arms
I felt I was safe

From all of life's harms.
You looked in my eyes
and I couldn't resist
To reach up and feel
the sweetness of your kiss
You held me so close

As all the people passed by
But at that moment
The only ones that existed...
Was just you and I.
It is a night to remember
A night never to forget
As I tell all my friends

Of this wonderful man I met.
He has given me hope
And has given me smiles
Even though we're apart
And across the miles.
I love to hear his voice
when i'm here all alone
Waiting for the ring...
It's him on the phone.

Even though we're apart
I miss his embrace,
and the kiss of his lips,
and the touch of his face.
I'll be back in his arms
and he'll be in mine too
For this is the love
That I never knew.

Thank you for showing me that love and happiness do exist....I miss you!!

Broken promise

You told me you loved me
I told you I loved you too
You said together we'd always be
I said I would be true

You promised you would hold me
You promised you'd be there
I promised I'd cross the stormy sea
To give you my loving care

But you never kept your promise
You aren't the way you used to be
You just gave up on us
And you just gave up on me

You said let's take a break
You said let's just be friends
But please for my sake
Just say the truth, cause it's the end

You promised every day
That you would be there
You molded my heart like clay
Into the shape of a broken chair

You promised to me
That we'd always have our love
You said to me
I was all you could think of

But, now, your walking away
Saying "let's just be friends"
Now, you made my heart break
That's your way of saying it's the end

Why did you make a promise you couldn't keep
Why did you make a promise you wouldn't live up to
Why did you make a promise that was so cheap
why did you make a promise to this broken hearted fool

Why did you promise we'd be together
Why did you say you dreamed of me in your sleep
why did you promise to love me forever
Why did you make a promise you could not keep?

Love hurts

love is like a knife
it hurts when it cuts you
love is this pain in my body
it never goes away
it stays for days and days
love hurts
love is like a broken leg
it feels like it will never heal
love is like a heart attack
it surprizes you
love hurts
be ready when you fall in love
you will be hurt
because
love hurts

I Will be There

If one day you feel like crying...
Call me.
I don't promise that I will make you laugh,
But I can cry with you

If one day you want to run away--
Don't be afraid to call me.
I don't promise to ask you to stop...
But I can run with you

If one day you don't want to listen
to anyone...
Call me.
I promise to be there for you.
And I promise to be very quiet.

But if one day you call...
And there is no answer...
Come fast to see me.
Perhaps I need you.

Youth and beauty

A mist creeps in
Through a crack in the door
Father and kids sleep soundly
Mothers feet touch the floor.

Feeling a presence
In the room below
She walks to the stairs
And looks at the warm fire's glow.

Reflecting off the wall
Made of mortar and stone
She creeps down slowly
To see who was in her home.

A handsome man
Of gyspsy descent
Sits quietly in a chair
She already knows his intent.

He has been here
Many times before
He arches his eyebrow
She falls to the floor.

Her body shivers
Waiting for the kiss
That will bring her to
An orgasmic bliss

He plays with her body
Like a well tuned guitar
This night is different though
Tonight he will take her far

Into the next life
And even beyond
This morning's sunrise
Was her very last dawn.

He plunged his teeth
In the soft skin of her neck
He dranks all of her blood
On her cheek, he placed a peck.

He fed her his blood
In droplets falling on her tongue
From this point on
She would always be young.

Vibrant and beautiful
She awoke with a smile
The left the small house
And walked many a mile.

Leaving her old life
And starting again
Her life with this vampire
Her lover and friend.

Why laugh????????????

Last night i had a dream.
The dream was set on a stage
And the stage was set in a theatre.
The theatre was grand and proper
Lush tapesteries hung on the wall
The seats were all of a plush red
Silk cords tethered the waiting crowd
Wanting to see the play
The play of a thousand souls
The play of ten thousand smiles
The play of a millon frowns
The crowds was ushered in
They took their seats
The lights dimmed
The curtain was drawn
The stage lights rose
And there I was
Bound and naked
Broken and disheveled
Eyes swollen shut
From fists of rage
Blood free flowing from my nose
From the broken cartelage.
Scratches and deep cuts
From nails and knifes alike.
The crowd gasped
Then one broke into laughter
Which spread to another
And another in succession
Quickly like wildfire
Until everyone was in a roar.
THen I fell over
And the laughing subsided
Until one person shed a tear
And that tear hit another
Causing her to cry.
The entire theatre wept
The floor became very damp
Cleaners came in with mops and buckets
But they too cried when they saw me.
The curtain then fell.
The crowd stopped
The crowd then left.
And I remained, waiting for the next show.

Only one thousand minus one left to do.
